The Montréal Highland Games took place in Pierrefonds on Sunday. There was plenty of entertainment for both adults and kids, including highland piping and drumming, with around 15 different pipe bands, from various parts of Canada. The main tent showcased Celtic bands and of course, it wouldn't be traditional without a bar. Highland dancing was a favourite throughout the day with dancers ranging in age from 5 yrs to adults. There were athletes performing typical highland events, competing in seven different events: putting the stone, light hammer throw, heavy hammer throw, sheaf toss, 28lb weight, 56lb weight and the famous caber toss. Children enjoyed bouncy castles, pony rides, face painting and several mobile sweet shops. The day wouldn't be complete without traditional Scottish weather; the multiple downpours made everyone feel very much at home.
