100 Strangers Part 38

Meet: David Goussanou

David is 17 years old and is also from the Ivory Coast. He moved here 10 years ago. He spent 7 years in Winnipeg and 3 in Montreal. He speaks fluent French, English and Spanish. He lives in the South Shore but comes to Mont Royal for long boarding. He is heading to cegap in Jan and will study mechanical aeronautics. He has 2 brothers. He loves soccer and cooking. His favourite dish is chicken and rice.

100 Strangers Part 37

Meet: Femanda Kanote Dorothee


Femanda is from the Ivory Coast. She is 28 years old and in a long distance relationship. She moved to Montreal a few years ago and became a yoga instructor in Old Montreal. She is also a singer and a musician. She is just back from a trip to Malawi where she was doing research on their music, but also taught yoga while she was there. In her spare time she loves to make clothes.

100 Stranger Part 36

Meet: Francois Dufult
Francois Dufult hails from Quebec City. He is 48 yrs old and works as a real estate broker. Francois studied architecture at Laval University. He travels a lot, some of the places he has visited are; South Africa, Italy, England and France. In his free time he loves to watch movies, especially sci-fi. I met Francois in a ruelle as he was heading to the gym for a quick work out. Thanks again Francois for your time.

100 Strangers Part 35

Meet: Ginette Rousseau
Ginette is from Quebec City and is working as a teacher in Montreal at college level teaching social work. She is 51 years old and moved here ten years ago. She loves art, especially painting on glass. Ginette loves the stain glass windows that are visible in churches all over the country. She also loves nature and loves to go camping. To stay fit, she jogs and has done a half marathon, which is should be very proud of. Thanks Ginette for taking a few minutes to tell me about your life.

Meet: André-Guy Charron

André is 63 yrs old and from Montréal. He was outside CBC station handing out magazines. He works for L'iti Ne Rai Re. He is holding one of his zines in which there is a feature on him and he was very proud of that. André really likes photography in his spare time.

100 Strangers Project Part 33

Meet: Fernando Gorabito.
Fernando is 33 years old, originally from Chile but moved to Montreal in 2006. He works as a journalist for CBC. He absolutely loves the French culture and loves the fact that it can exist in a country like Canada. He loves how friendly Montreal is and how welcoming this city is. He recently returned to Chile to visit his family who still live there. His hobbies include, soccer and learning languages. He speaks 3 languages fluently (French, English and Spanish) but he is also learning Portuguese to add to his list. Thank you Fernando for giving me 5 minutes, even though you had been working since 6am and on your way home to bed.

100 Strangers Project Part 32

Meet: André Durant
André is 78 years old. He worked in the mines in northern Quebec for 33 years. He almost got killed a few times in those mines, he says. Copper was the main element back then but then it changed to gold and silver. He has one son who lives in Three Rivers. Now that he is retired he loves to spend time on the computer, yet he says he doesn't really know how to work it, except for email. He loves to exercise, especially cycling which helps with his arthritic knees.

100 Strangers Project Part 31

Meet: Richard St Jacques.
Richard is a 49 yr old musician. He is from Lac St Jean but now lives in Montreal. He works as a mover which he says is very difficult work especially in the summer heat. He has one daughter who is 27 years old. You can usually find Richard playing at Tam Tams on Mont Royal on Sunday afternoons.

Meet: Julia Cousin
Julia is 23, from Montreal and bilingual. She studied at Mcgill and has a BA in Kinesiology, to which I had to ask what exactly that was, it is an exercise specialist. She spent some of her vacation in NY. She loves sports, her favourites being soccer and dance.

100 Strangers Project Part 28 + 29

Meet: Arianne Herbert and Philippe Landry




Arianne is 21 years old from St Jean sur Richelieu but lives in Montreal. She is a student at UQAM, studying high school education. She is going to spend some of her summer vacation at Mont Tremblant. She loves shopping and being social.

Philippe is 22 years old from Montreal. He is studying to be an electrician at Ecole de Metiers du Sud Ouest. He is currently working at a hardware store. Philippe loves to play the guitar and the piano.
