On St Patricks weekend, Eamon Gilmore the Irish Tánaiste and deputy Prime Minister of Ireland visited Concordia to award Paul Martin and Daniel Johnson with awards. He spoke at Concordia about the Irish Economy and was later taken to the Hilton Hotel for the annual St Patricks Day Irish luncheon. The Tánaiste also gave a speech here and presented Jason Burns (son of the legendary Pat Burns) and Norm Flynn (founder of Heroes hockey) with Irish Heritage certificates.
